Do you use Chrome? Chrome started blocking a lot of scripts by default a while back, Kinja might be thinking that Chrome itself is an ad blocker.

Yup, I use Chrome.
And that’s smart. There’s enough autorun garbage in ads that’s probably not safe.

And that just means the ads Kinja serve are from known harmful sources.
Chrome’s adblock does not block everything, especially when Google’s revenue comes from ads.

I get that all the time BECAUSE I’m using an adblocker. And it’s still less annoying and obtrusive than all the ads.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a few GM authors state that they use ad blockers... and I don’t blame them. I don’t hate all ads; it’s just the ob trusive ones that need to be dealt with. And if Kinja won’t do anything about it, then I guess we have to take matters into our own hands.
